Lunatraktors

The LUNATRAKTORS 'broken folk' performance research project started with a simple question: What's left when all of our resources are taken away? Without our smartphones and networks, libraries or tools, what remains is what we have learned by heart, and what we can do with our bodies – our hands, feet and voices.

Using techniques from overtone singing, body percussion, queer cabaret, clowning, theatre and dance, LUNATRAKTORS strips traditional folksong back to the raw ingredients of rhythm, melody and narrative. Combining contemporary beats with timeless stories of personal struggles against institutional oppression, LUNATRAKTORS produce exciting and accessible works that resonate across age-groups, abilities and cultural backgrounds.
