EVENT POSTPONED – TEDxFolkestone 2021 postponed until further notice

I’m sorry to say we have had to make the tough decision to postpone our TEDxFolkestone 2021 event. We will look for a new date in the year to run it. Our decision follows directly from the Government’s announcement on 19th December about UK-wide restrictions and new tiers.

Although the event itself was to be a virtual event online, the speakers’ talks were to be filmed in person.  We did not feel it would do justice to their ideas or their hard work to ask them to delivery remotely, nor would it represent the quality and legacy we want for TEDxFolkestone.

In addition, we are very aware that these are difficult times for many. The team is based in Kent, which has been placed in the strictest Tier 4, and that announcement will be affecting all of us in different ways. It seems sensible and sensitive to pull together as a community and pause… until we are all able to move forward confidently and safely.
Rest assured, we do plan to run the virtual event in 2021.
Once we are able to gain more certainty on how long restrictions will last, we will announce our new event date.
